Link and My Hiatus  2

Hello Stichers! Sorry my posting hiatus lasted a few months longer than I expected. First I injured my foot pretty badly, then I moved in with a friend of mine because she was sick and Dr. House was not available, and then we had to get roommates because Cobra insurance is insane. Then last yesterday we finally got a diagnosis: Anti-NMDA Receptor Encephalitis, the same rare disease I spent all last summer working on an educational campaign for because another friend of mine contracted it. I almost feel cursed, but I am glad that I could have potentially saved the life of a great friend.

Today I bring you some charts from Zelda, but you don’t have to be a sword wielding elf to save the day. I used the names I called the characters back in the day, when we had to blow into that shiny gold cartridge every time we played. There are knit/crochet charts as well as cross stitch charts, so everyone can stitch their way to victory.

As always, feel free to message me with any questions, comments, winning lottery numbers, or pictures of your creations.

Enjoy!

Get Un-Bored With Sherlock  0

Hello stitchers! It has been an awfully busy last few weeks. I was watching multiple houses filled of animals and forgot which house I actually lived a few times. When I got some time I wrote out this post and then realized I totally messed up the charts and had to re-do them. Sleep deprivation is not my friend.

I know there are a lot of SuperWhoLock and just plain Sherlock fans out there, so I whipped up a blanket chart that you can use to make make a wallpaper, or a bored wallpaper blanket. I have the repeat of the wallpaper and the smiley face that fits into the repeat so you can adjust it to sit wherever you want on the blanket. I also have a few variations of just blocks, so you can make them into pillows or add them to a blanket or whatever your little heart desires.

As always, feel free to contact meif you find a janky link, want to see cute puppy pictures, have any questions, or have pics of projects you want to share. I love seeing your pics.

Enjoy the holiday weekend!

R.I.P. Leonard Nimoy  0

Hello stitchers, it is a sad day. Today we lost Leonard Nimoy. I grew up watching Star Trek with my dad and always loved Spock. He was my favorite. Later in life I watch him in the Star Trek movies, Next Generation, on Fringe, and of course on his occasional guest spots on various shows. He also had a great twitter feed (the obove image is his last avatar), always ending in LLAP.

As it turns out I mourn the same way I love, so I immediately charted out this Spock image I saw on my feed. I haven’t done many Star Trek related charts because there are already so many out there, but this one I felt compelled to do.

Grieving is logical. Live long and prosper my friends.

No Ugly Christmas Sweaters, Only Nerdy Ones  0

Hello stitchers! I know that ugly sweater parties are all the rage these days, but I’ve always like the “old lady” style fair isle sweaters. But what I have always wanted is a few nerdier versions.

I have been pondering the idea of nerdy fair isle for some time and finally decided to crank some out. You don’t have to use them on sweaters, you can make a scarf or even a dice bag if you want. They are all in knit stitch and my first real try at charting fair isle, so please be kind.

Please feel free to contact me here or on my new Facebook page The Hapeless Stitcher, to let me know what you would like to stitch, if you find a bad link, or you just want share your own creations.

Enjoy!

Pitfall and Daria: My 80s and 90s Loves  0

Hello Stitchers! Winter has finally hit and I’m sure for many of you, like me, it’s full on yarn season. Whenever it gets cold I have the overwhelming need to make warm and fuzzy things. The last few weeks have not only brought on the winter chill, but I also hit over 20,000 hits on the website! Thank all of you for you interest in my charts and all my crazy ramblings. I really appreciate it!!!

When I was young I used to pull out my uncle’s Atari from under my grandma’s tv and fight with my brother at who got to play Pitfall first. Being the little sister, my brother was always way better at it. I never did get a good hang of it, but I still have great memories of playing. So I made a set of Pitfall related charts, from simple to complex so everyone can relive their favorite Atari memories.

I have also been watching a lot of Netflix since winter hit, and did a lot of searching around and found one of my favorite sarcastic, grumpy, high school loves, Daria. I must say she is still pretty fantastic. Although I see a lot of Daria in myself, I’m more of a mix between Daria and Jane…..but I’m pretty sure that’s true for a lot of high school outcasts in the 90s and probably today. I cranked out an opening logo chart, as well as a Daria and a Jane chart so you all can sit on your couch, and be grumpy together.

Let me know what characters from your childhood/teenhood you would like to stitch, and I might just whip up a chart for you.

Enjoy!

Welcome to my life Night Vale  2

Hello stitchers! It has been some time since I have posted, but I have some very good reasons. I have been working on a campaign to help my Friend Andrea and her family get reunited. There are some horrible probate practices in Ohio that are wrecking not just her family, but the lives of many people that have sudden illnesses. We need to spread the word about her illness Anti-NMDAR Encephalitis, which is newly classified and is commonly misdiagnosed as schizophrenia. Please check out Reunite-R-Family to help Andrea and to help spread the word about this disease.

I also took a week to go visit family. I spent a good portion of my time with my dad, which was awesome. We gave him “The Best Birthday Ever”, went swimming in his lake, and I gave him another “ToeHead” painting to add to his collection.
20140727-164949-60589763.jpg
This one is entitled “Who? Me?”, and was made especially for me by my buddy Daric. Daric is a great artist and you can see More of Daric Gill’s ToeHeads on Facebook or check out his artist blog for news on his many great bodies of work. WOSU, The local PBS affiliate, even did a segment on him for their Broad & High program. If you ever find yourself in Columbus you might see him working in a local coffee shop or riding one of his mopeds around town. He really is a very talented and super nice guy.

I injured a tendon in my right hand so I won’t be doing any stitching or charting for at least a few weeks. I am a pro at hurting myself while doing mundane things.

One of the other things I did this past couple weeks was join another fandom. I know, not that shocking. When I was at Marcon with my friend Rain this year, she talked about Welcome to Night Vale, and although I had heard about it I didn’t know what it was. Welcome to Night Vale, can only be described as a podcast of a news program in a fictitious town where strange things happen to strange people in strange ways. Rain said I should just listen, that I would like it. She was so right. I told her I had started listening and that I loved Night Vale. Then she told me that she and her daughter had gotten into watching Supernatural. They are apparently “in deep”! I am so proud.

Today, thanks to my new found fandom, I bring you a knitting chart of the Welcome to Night Vale cover. It would make a great pillow for any non-existent angel you couldn’t possibly know, or even that faceless woman that secretly lives in your house.

Enjoy!

It’s my birthday, so it’s random stuff I like  0

That’s right, it’s the first day of July. Usually I don’t get to do much on my birthday around here but Canada likes me so much they made it A holiday! I love those guys. Since I’ve made it to 35 alive, I decided to throw up some random charts that might not be entirely understood or popular. There are a handful of you out there that will love them with me and I am cool with that. I will explain each novelty as I go, for those in the dark.

Obviously some of these have had some computer generated help, but it’s my birthday and I can do what I want.

BABACHU! This is a man who’s portrait can be found all over the world in any medium from oil paint to bronze, but you most likely have never seen him, unless that is you have ever visited Columbus, especially durring festival season. He was a great nude model from my college days, interesting features and the ability to hold a pose like a statue, and on the streets he’s got all the right moves and the best Jazz Hands out there! I always run into him at the strangest times. Once It was 5:30am the middle of downtown, no one around and I saw him blocks away and thought I was hallucinating. When he got close we stopped and had a nice chat about how we hadn’t seen each other in awhile. He’s magic I say.

This first chart is from an ancient poster for his dance class that my friend Lisa has some how kept in almost mint condition. It looks a lot darker than it actually is.

If you don’t know who Dean Winchester is yet, then you probably haven’t visited this site much. He kills demons, vampires, and all kinds of mooks. He also happens to be a smart ass. One time they caught him and threw him in jail for murder, so he threw out his best Blue Steal for the mugshot. It’s a classic Supernatural moment.

This leads us to the last and best section of my Birthday Love extravaganza, the Patrick Gilmore section. If you don’t already know about Patrick you should check out my Patrick Gilmore page, it will fill you in on all his actor type stuff. When in doubt I make charts of this goofy guy or tweet him strange messages. What can I say, he gives me lots to work with.

This is the face I imagine he makes after every take.

This last Patrick chart I am bombarding you with is my favorite pic of him these days. He took it at an award show I think. One of these days I am going to spend an eternity stitching this.

Enjoy!

TAKEI PRIDE!  0

Hello stitchers! It’s almost Pride week. There is something that will make this year’s Columbus Pride Festival greater than ever
20140619-190941-68981376.jpg
that’s right, good old Uncle George is going to be the grand marshal of this year’s Pride Parade!

You don’t have to be Takei in order to have fun at Pride. Columbus is a pretty Takei friendly city, and I couldn’t imagine why anyone would live here if they were homophobic (not saying that they don’t, or why they would be in the first place). When I was in college I lived in The Short North, or “The Short” as they cool kids say. It has traditionally been the most rainbow covered area of the city. Therefore I started going to the Pride Parade when I moved there. To tell you the truth, my first pride parade was an excursion originally planned to keep my friend’s mom busy while she visited. We had a great time, said mom got a blow up sun from the male stripper float and I got a sunburn and broke my toe. It was very memorable.

In honor of this most festive of local occasions I have a hand full of Pride & Equality charts. There is a little bit of something for everyone :)

Have a safe and happy Pride!

Mōl loves Sloth!  0

It has been a rather boring yet eventful week. Mainly I was sick and spent most of the time in bed and trying to eat. I feel much better today and for some bizarre reason was thinking about Goonies. If you haven’t seen this movie, then you must. I don’t think I’ve met any adult or kid who doesn’t love this movie. There is pirate treasure, adventure, bad guys and of course Rocky Road!

Due to my recent feelings of monsterdom and my love for all things nostalgic and weird, I decided to whip out a Sloth chart. I just have the knit stitches (5×6). I have been working on a bunch of charts lately but they seem to be multiplying and only being slowly finished. I hope you enjoy this one though. Let me know what other nostalgic or nerdy things you would like to stitch!

Goonies never say die!

I’m looking for test stitchers!  0

Hello everyone! How are you handling the heat? We got a nice bought of rain showers that have helped cool things a bit and I am loving it. I even took Harry Dog to the (little) waterfalls since the rain made them a bit more exciting.
20140605-180421-65061874.jpg
*Wet and happy Harry

It’s farmer’s market season and we hit our first one yesterday, which just happens to be where the waterfalls are. The best part was a guy selling pies out of a hearse.

20140605-180657-65217003.jpg
In other random scary news, my housemate diagnosed someone with Leprocy (Hansens disease). We also acquired another housemate without me actually noticing. He might be bringing another dog to the house if the Landman lets him. We are turning into a zoo.

In yarn related news, I am looking for test stitchers. I can chart way faster than I can stitch and am looking for test stitchers (knitters, crocheters, Tunisian crocheters, and cross stitchers) to help me on some patterns I want to sell. These are not patterns that will be on this site. I will still be making nerdy things and posting them for you to enjoy, just making more all together. If you are interested please email me at YourFPMolina@gmail.com. Let me know what kind of stitchery you do, and what kind of projects and imagery you would like to work on i.e. Crocheting Doctor Who, Supernatural, and unicorn blankets.

I didn’t buy any honey at the farmers market since I have lots of it at home, but I was tempted, so I whipped up some bee hive charts for you guys instead. I have Perler bead, cross stitch and knitting charts. I made a couple variations of each so there’s something for everyone. I think whatever you make with these would be great in a kids room, but you can appreciate them if you are a big kid too!

Enjoy!
