Cain, His Fantastic Beard, and Some Bonus Flash  4

Hello stitchers! As you know, I am a big Supernatural fan. Well this week Cain, and his fantastic beard got quite a blow from his blade buddy Dean. He had some amazing hair this time around to go with the beard. In honor of Cain’s fantastic follicles I have a hand full of Cain knitting block and cross stitch charts for you. I even made a First Blade border for you cross stitchers.

Another one of my Tuesday night pleasures is The Flash, so I decided to thrown in a couple knitting block charts of the Flash emblem. One is the new Flash and one the old school comic book version.

It’s been cold and snowy this past week so I’ve been giving my phone and hand quite a workout to make these, as well as rewatching a few seasons of Buffy. Although I should be taking a few days off to rest my weary hand, I have a special post comming up on March 5th that I am pretty excited about, so stay tuned.

I hope you all are staying warm and well. Please let me know, as always, if you find any bad links, have any questions or comments, want to share your macaroni and cheese recipes, or have pictures of your stitching creations. I love seeing your finished projects.

Enjoy!

A Rebuilding Month And The Little Prince  0

Hello Stitchers! January has always been a bit of a rebuilding month, recovering from the craziness of December’s holidays and the cold snowy January weather. This year has been especially so, since I had my phone stolen at the local casino. Casinos are generally unexciting, and rather depressing. It was my friend’s birthday however and I took one for the team. Within 20min, and not till I sat down did I notice, my iPhone was gone. As you know I do my charting on my phone, so this was a huge set back. Luckily a friend’s boyfriend sent me an old iPhone and the iCloud magically brought back all the charts-in-progress I thought I lost! I must say the whole situation was a trial and made me feel very lucky to have such amazing friends!

When I was a kid my mom would read to us all of the time. I come from a family of readers and teachers, so books were always a big part of my life. One of the books that we always loved was The Little Prince. I’m pretty sure we had Mom read it to us even into middle school. It wasn’t till high school when my friends read it in French class, did I realize other people read it too.

These are my The Little Prince charts that I had been working on for some time, lost on my phone, and got back. I have both cross stitch and knit blocks of the prince on his little planet. The rest are knit block charts. My favorite is the Hat/Boa eating an elephant.

What books did you like reading as a child that have stuck with you till today?

Enjoy!

Minecraft!  9

Hello stitchers! It’s been snowing and getting crazy cold outside. This has given me a great excuse to spend the last few days under the blankets, huddling with puppies, and working on today’s post.

My fantastic friend Christina, has a cute kid and they love watching Minecraft videos. I actually didn’t know about these videos till I made a Stampy Cat post that she requested. For those of you like me, who would rather build things in real life, these videos turn a complicated game based on simple concepts into hilarious entertainment.

My lovely nephew also loves playing Minecraft and asks me if I want to play every time I visit. So I did some research and created a set of Minecraft based charts that cover character “skins”, a couple monsters, and a few specific players that the kids like to watch.

Players: Hero Brian, Steve, and Enderman
Monsters: Skeleton, Zombie
Characters: Superman, Link from Zelda, a Minion, Chewbacca, The Incredible Hulk, Green Lantern

I made these charts in square blocks, so you can use them to add to a knit project (although they might be more squat), add to a crochet project, make them from fused beads, weave them out of glass beads, or even build them from Legos! I have also added cross stitch charts with DMC colors and optional line work. I even added the cross stitch “marks only” charts so you can see the line work.

So if you or a loved one are Minecraft obsessed, or you just want to make a Chewbacca scarf, I hope you find something on this post to make your day happier. Just click on the name below the image to download the PDF chart from Dropbox.

Enjoy!

By The Power of Greyskull, Happy New Year!!!!  6

Hello stitcher! I hope your holidays went well. I spent a long time hanging out with my family and managed not to start the new year sick like usual, even though my mom was sick and had laryngitis which was hilarious for me as I acted as her over-embellishing interpreter. I am also one day away from fulfilling one of my two New Years resolutions, waiting at least a week to eat any of the pickled eggs my dad and I made. It’s been torture. I love pickled eggs.
Pickled eggs
While I was back home I retrieved a quilt hanger out of my brother’s old room. While I was in there I found his best childhood Christmas present, the Castle Greyskull my grandparents got him back in the 80s. I was so jealous, I always got Barbies instead of the He-Man and G.I. Joes my brother got, yes I was always a tomboy.

So my first set of charts this year are some of my childhood favorites: He-Man, She-Ra, The Power Sword, the Sorceress, Evil Lyn, and of course everyone’s favorite stinky villain Skeletor. I have them all in two pillow sizes in knit squares.

I also created a quick multiple choice survey for you to take so that I can better fulfill your stitching wishes this year. I promise you will all get an A+ if you take it!

Enjoy, and have a happy new year!

Pusheen and Friends  7

Hello stitchers! I use Facebook Messenger for a good portion of my puppy-sitting communication, mainly because most people can have it up on their desktops at work. I can send pics of their cuteness, or in some cases evidence of their puppy destruction. Then one day they added the “sticker” option and I fell in love with a cute little cat that reminds me of one of my kitty nieces, Miss Leo.
imageI can’t help it, Pusheen expresses all of life’s great emotions.

I went a little overboard and made a bunch of Pucheen, and Pucheen Friends charts for you to stitch. Full intarsia color as well as line work charts. They are all in (5×6) knit stitch, in 13x13inch pillow squares. If you are interested in a cross stitch pattern of one of these, let me know, there is a good chance I will chart it up.

As always please let me know what you want to chart, if you find any bad links, have any pics of your awesome creations, or pictures of your relatives passed out after too much holiday turkey.

Enjoy!

Pitfall and Daria: My 80s and 90s Loves  0

Hello Stitchers! Winter has finally hit and I’m sure for many of you, like me, it’s full on yarn season. Whenever it gets cold I have the overwhelming need to make warm and fuzzy things. The last few weeks have not only brought on the winter chill, but I also hit over 20,000 hits on the website! Thank all of you for you interest in my charts and all my crazy ramblings. I really appreciate it!!!

When I was young I used to pull out my uncle’s Atari from under my grandma’s tv and fight with my brother at who got to play Pitfall first. Being the little sister, my brother was always way better at it. I never did get a good hang of it, but I still have great memories of playing. So I made a set of Pitfall related charts, from simple to complex so everyone can relive their favorite Atari memories.

I have also been watching a lot of Netflix since winter hit, and did a lot of searching around and found one of my favorite sarcastic, grumpy, high school loves, Daria. I must say she is still pretty fantastic. Although I see a lot of Daria in myself, I’m more of a mix between Daria and Jane…..but I’m pretty sure that’s true for a lot of high school outcasts in the 90s and probably today. I cranked out an opening logo chart, as well as a Daria and a Jane chart so you all can sit on your couch, and be grumpy together.

Let me know what characters from your childhood/teenhood you would like to stitch, and I might just whip up a chart for you.

Enjoy!

The Great Pumpkin is Comming!  3

Hello my stitchers! The leaves are turning and the sweaters are coming out, the best time of the year. It also means that Halloween is coming!

When I was a kid their were 3 things that made Halloween great; Free Candy, the fact that the house on 4th Street gave out cotton candy, and the Charlie Brown Halloween Special.

One year my dad didn’t have to work so he took me trick-or-treating. This was a big deal and I was super excited about it, but lost time and didn’t have a costume come beggars night. I’m not sure how it happened, but I ended up wearing a bunch of my dad’s clothes and my mom drew a beard on my face with an eyeliner pencil. I was so excited to be my dad and was beaming when I went up to the first few doors. Then, as my dad says, I came up to my dad and asked “Dad, what’s a hobo?”

By the time I got to high school Tim Burton was making films and my art teacher let us watch The Nightmare Before Christmas, and a new cross-holiday tradition was born. So today I have a handful of knitting pillow charts from my two Halloween traditions, past and not-as-past.

Be safe this Halloween and remember to check your candy for hidden razor blades and chain saws!

Enjoy!

Rose Tyler, and where I have been  3

Hello there my stitchers! I know it has been quite some time since I have made a post, it seems that leaving the house keeps one busy. Yes, my hermit hat has been replaced by a slightly more social hat. I miss my naps and endless hours for charting. I also had to rest my hand after injuring it, so there is that.

One of the most exciting things I have done while on my chartcation was seeing one of my favorite bands Frog Eyes (video)IMG_1755.JPG
That guy is Carey Mercer, the rest of the band kinda changes over time, which is how I ended up hanging out with the drummer before hand without realizing it. Afterwords we got to hang out with the band and they were very nice Canadians and people. I had got much adrenaline I was shaking for 3 days. It was a great night a long time in the making.

Last weekend was a neighborhood festival, my favorite local festival of the year, and I got to smooze with Babachu and my friend Russ happened to be taking pics capturing the moment.

IMG_2009.JPG
Now that I have some time to sit and relax I finally got around to charting Rose Tyler, as per request. Sadly I haven’t been able to watch any of the new Doctor Who, but my dad is recording them so I can watch them on my visit next week. He is not a fan of the writing this season. What do you think of the darker side of The Doctor?

Enjoy!

Welcome to my life Night Vale  2

Hello stitchers! It has been some time since I have posted, but I have some very good reasons. I have been working on a campaign to help my Friend Andrea and her family get reunited. There are some horrible probate practices in Ohio that are wrecking not just her family, but the lives of many people that have sudden illnesses. We need to spread the word about her illness Anti-NMDAR Encephalitis, which is newly classified and is commonly misdiagnosed as schizophrenia. Please check out Reunite-R-Family to help Andrea and to help spread the word about this disease.

I also took a week to go visit family. I spent a good portion of my time with my dad, which was awesome. We gave him “The Best Birthday Ever”, went swimming in his lake, and I gave him another “ToeHead” painting to add to his collection.
20140727-164949-60589763.jpg
This one is entitled “Who? Me?”, and was made especially for me by my buddy Daric. Daric is a great artist and you can see More of Daric Gill’s ToeHeads on Facebook or check out his artist blog for news on his many great bodies of work. WOSU, The local PBS affiliate, even did a segment on him for their Broad & High program. If you ever find yourself in Columbus you might see him working in a local coffee shop or riding one of his mopeds around town. He really is a very talented and super nice guy.

I injured a tendon in my right hand so I won’t be doing any stitching or charting for at least a few weeks. I am a pro at hurting myself while doing mundane things.

One of the other things I did this past couple weeks was join another fandom. I know, not that shocking. When I was at Marcon with my friend Rain this year, she talked about Welcome to Night Vale, and although I had heard about it I didn’t know what it was. Welcome to Night Vale, can only be described as a podcast of a news program in a fictitious town where strange things happen to strange people in strange ways. Rain said I should just listen, that I would like it. She was so right. I told her I had started listening and that I loved Night Vale. Then she told me that she and her daughter had gotten into watching Supernatural. They are apparently “in deep”! I am so proud.

Today, thanks to my new found fandom, I bring you a knitting chart of the Welcome to Night Vale cover. It would make a great pillow for any non-existent angel you couldn’t possibly know, or even that faceless woman that secretly lives in your house.

Enjoy!

Turtle Power!  51

Hello my stitchers! When I was in Middle and High School (in the mid 90s) my brother and I would race home to watch The Teenaged Mutant Ninja Turtles .

20140709-005241-3161847.jpg
Yes we were raised nerd. It was important to get home in time to see the second episode. It was also important to beat each other home so we could get the good seat, the one that let you control the tv. We only had one tv and no remote. There were a few physical altercations that occurred over this, and several bruises. The chair was serious business. We even ran home on Fridays, knowing perfectly well that it was going to be a rerun. If we had a DVR, life would have been way more productive.

Today I bring to you a hand full of charts, all knitting, of our beloved half shelled friends. The individuals are in 3 different sizes so you can make pillows or pot holders or whatever crazy projects you can think of adding them to. I even threw in the outlines in case you wanted to just knit & purl or fill in your own colors.

I have been rather busy lately with life, so July might be a slow month for posts and then again every time I say that I make a slew of them in a row.

As always please feel free to contact me with any questions, comments, requests, good puns, or corrupted links.

Enjoy!
