Mr. Stampy Cat!  5

A little while ago a good Internet friend of mine asked me if I could make a chart for her. She is just starting out with cross stitch and I was trying to help her. She got one of those horrible kits that quickly lost her attention. I told her to try a pattern that was more fun. A few days later she sends me this weird cartoon of a cat and says that this is what she wants:

Now I just got to work on it without thinking about it too much. Then one day I just Googled Mr Stampy Cat, on a whim. I am sure glad I did, because he‘s hilarious.

As you know I’m not a big video game player, but Mr Stampy Cat makes videos of his Minecraft games. He has other players come over and play games and have adventures with him. You can listen to his delightful accent and watch him eat cake off a camel’s back here!

I have three cross stitch versions (and a bonus pixel set) of Mr Stampy Cat, each with varying degrees of complexity, so you can stitch one if you are a newbie or if you have a house full of floss.

Let me know what other characters You might want to stitch, or just tell me how cute your cat is.

I Wuv Supernatural  0

Hello my stitchers! I have been working on a hand full exciting projects…that sadly I won’t be able to share with you for quite some time. I know, I’m a bit of a tease, but hopefully it will be worth it.

In Patrick Gilmore news, they finally put out a trailer for the new show he will be on Gracepoint. I’m happy to see my boyfriend David Tennant, on tv again, but his American accent kinda messes with my head. It’s a remake of a BBC show called Broadchurch. Are you guys going to watch? Let me know and we can get nerdy together. Patrick isn’t in the trail and I don’t know what kind of character he will be playing yet, but I’m still excited.

Another exciting thing that happened last week was the Season 9 finale of Supernatural. I totally saw it coming but I still haven’t recovered. I think I’m a bit in denial. I’m not going to spoil anything for you who haven’t seen it, but I will weep with those who have.

I have been working on this cross stitch for some time now, but after that finale it was perfect timing to finish it. Remember everyone’s favorite bi-polar nut-job of a giant teddy bear, T. Bear? Well I mashed him with Dean’s “I Wuv Hugz” teddy bear shirt. Yes now you can sum up all of your post season angst with a nice relaxing cross stitch that feels your pain.

It’s rare but all I have is a cross stitch for you, don’t get too used to it. I did make a large print version of the chart and also one that just has the marks (for you fickle stitchers that do whatever it is you do with those). I do plan on making a version with all the outlines done, but it takes ages for me to do all of that on my phone. *I updated with outlines* Unless I get a visit from the iPad fairy (a girl can dream).

Enjoy your long Memorial Day weekend! Be safe, be thankful, and enjoy!

Don’t forget to let me know what you want to stitch next!

I don’t know what happened but I seem to have missed the lines on the right paw. That’s what I get for charting past my bead time. I’ll fix it soon.

Last weekend was MarCon! I had a great time and think I have recovered. If you are into cosplay or multiple fandoms, then this con is for you. This year was a bit of a rebuilding year so the crowd wasn’t as large, but still tons of fun.

I spent most of my day (since I had an overnight puppy gig on Friday, I just got a Saturday pass) following these guys around20140517-163819.jpg
Behind those awesome 100% home made costumes are my friends Rain & Todd. They did such a fantastic job. I spent most of the day making sure they didn’t bump into walls, and cutting strings off their costumes. Who knew, Tusken Raiders shed. What’s super awesome about the whole day, was that not only did they win the Journeymen category of the big Masquerade, but they won best of show! Even better, you can see how to make your own Lady Tusken from Rain herself Here. No, once again I don’t get paid to say these nice things, they are just amazing.

I wish I had gotten more pics from MarCon, but I was having fun, using other peoples cameras, and mothering Tuskens most of the time. I did get a few on my phone, one which made my day, because he gave me a Jelly Baby!

Mark is my favorite 4!

The Fly!

This guy was super nice, his friend built this awesome suit for him, but I can’t remember the name of the video game.

This guy was great as Rick from The Walking Dead, he had the moves down pat! The pic is red because we were at Barfleet and he was having an in-depth conversation with Todd about the comic books vs show.

There are some much better and pretty cool green screen photos over at The Sci-Fi Photo Guys.

After all that excitement it was time to recharge my hermit batteries, so I cranked out some potion charts for you. These are based off of a game I have been playing since Android was new, Zenonia! It’s more like old school Zelda than any phone game I could find, and I’m addicted. I’m currently playing the 5th installment and it’s killing my sleep patterns. I’m not a big gamer so it holds a special spot in my nerd life.

I’ve got Mana & Life Potions; square with DMC colors and knit blocks, and simplified versions.

Bag That Angel!  5

Ever want a Castiel magnet? Well now you can make your own. Watch out for those other flying dick bags though, you never know who might hear it. (If you have no idea what I’m talking about, don’t worry. You just don’t watch Supernatural)

I have a variety of Angel Siren chart sizes. I made each in squares (Cross Stitch) and knitting blocks. Also a Fused bead (Perler) pattern and a stencil.

Let me know if you stitch something up, and if you catch any angels.

Stitch Your Polish!  0

Hello! It’s another fantastic Spring day filled with lawn clippings, pollen and sneezes. It’s a bit gloomy but it’s not raining yet, so I’m happy about that.

You all know I’m a huge nerd. I love Sci-Fi, fantasy, and a plethora of other nerdy things. What you might not know is that I also have a very girlie side (and a rather butch side but I’m sure we will get to that some other post), and I Love to paint my nails. I do a lot of work with my hands so they don’t tend to stay nice very long. If you have the same issue I have the perfect thing for you! It’s called Gelous You use it as a base coat and as two topcoats (sealing the tips on a topcoat). I did my nails last weekend and although I have beat the crap out of them this week they look like a day of wear with good quality base and top coats. It’s magic I say! I tell everyone who shows a slight interest in nail polish, and no I’m not getting paid for it.

With my obsession in mind I made a hand full of patterns of Nail Polish! Shocking I know. These charts can be great to use up some small leftover skeins, and show your love for paint fumes and pretty fingers. These would probably be great presents for the right teenager or manicurist in your life.

I have singled out each size bottle so you can throw it on a sweater or scarf or what have you. I have them in knit blocks and square blocks (DMC). I left the backgrounds on the pillow charts empty, so you can fill in a color that fits your decor. Also I have “Polish” marked generically so you can pick multiple or single colors, or make them all the same. Mix it up, use up those extras!

Let me know how you polish things up!
